Introduction

François-Frédéric Guy is now firmly established as a pianist of immense interpretative authority and superlative technique, especially admired in music of the Austro-German tradition. With his exceptional command of keyboard sonority, he has made a speciality of works on the grandest scale, such as the major piano works of Brahms, the Liszt B Minor Sonata, and Beethoven’s Hammerklavier. His recording of this last work for Näive was recently declared the best available by BBC Radio 3’s Building a Library.

He is now embarking on an important phase in his career when he will be playing all the Beethoven sonatas and concertos around the world, as well as appearing at festivals and international concert venues playing other music central to his artistic personality: Brahms, Prokofiev, Bartók and contemporary music.
